Maine's biggest and perhaps most vibrant city, Portland was established as a fishing village in 1633 and grew to become New England's largest port.
Old Port has been added to your itinerary. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Portland: Ogunquit (Ogunquit Beach & Marginal Way Walkway) and Kancamagus Highway (in North Conway). There's still lots to do: examine the collection at Portland Head Light and explore the world behind art at Portland Museum of Art.

York is a town in York County, Maine, United States, near the southern tip of the state. Cape Neddick Nubble Lighthouse has been added to your itinerary. Kick off your visit on the 5th (Sun): enjoy the sand and surf at Wells Beach, then visit a coastal fixture at Cape Neddick Nubble Lighthouse, and then enjoy the sand and surf at Long Sands Beach. The first national park east of the Mississippi River, Acadia National Park draws visitors with its rugged landscape of ocean shoreline, low-slung granite mountains, dense woodlands, and pristine lakes.
On the 7th (Tue), cruise along Park Loop Road, take your sightseeing to a higher altitude at Cadillac Mountain, and then explore the landscape on two wheels at Carriage Roads.

Traveling by car from York to Acadia National Park takes 4.5 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of taxi, bus, flight, and car; or do a combination of taxi, train, bus, and car. When traveling from York in May, plan for little chillier days and about the same nights in Acadia National Park: temperatures range from 60°F by day to 43°F at night. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 8th (Wed) to allow time to drive to Bangor.

Bangor is a city along the Penobscot River in the U.S. Your day-by-day itinerary now includes Perkins Cove.
