Your itinerary includes some good beach time at Virginia Beach and Cape Charles Beach. And it doesn't end there: enjoy the sand and surf at Sandbridge Beach, get up close and personal with brilliant marine life at Virginia Aquarium & Marine Science Center, take in the waterfront at Virginia Beach Boardwalk, and stroll through Chick's Beach.

Detroit to Virginia Beach is an approximately 5-hour flight. You can also do a combination of bus and flight; or drive. Prepare for somewhat warmer weather when traveling from Detroit in March: high temperatures in Virginia Beach hover around 57°F and lows are around 39°F. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 23rd (Mon) so you can go by car to Williamsburg.

Founded in 1632 as a fortified settlement on the high ground between two rivers, Williamsburg served as a colonial capital of Virginia for over 80 years.
Start off your visit on the 24th (Tue): get engrossed in the history at Colonial Williamsburg, then contemplate in the serene atmosphere at St. Luke's Historic Church & Museum, and then have some family-friendly fun at Bounce House & Laser Tag. On your second day here, contemplate the long history of Historic Jamestowne, then step aboard Jamestown Settlement, and then take in the architecture and atmosphere at Bruton Parish Episcopal Church.

You can drive from Virginia Beach to Williamsburg in 1.5 hours. Other options are to take a bus; or take a bus. In March, plan for daily highs up to 60°F, and evening lows to 38°F. Finish your sightseeing early on the 25th (Wed) to allow enough time to drive to Chincoteague Island.

Located just across the Potomac River from Washington, D.C., the county of Arlington blends big city and sprawling suburban environments.
Start off your visit on the 27th (Fri): learn about all things military at National Museum of the Marine Corps, then see the interesting displays at Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center, and then fly down the slopes at Inside Ski Training Center. Here are some ideas for day two: don't miss a visit to John F.
