Williamsburg — 3 nights

Colonial Capital

Founded in 1632 as a fortified settlement on the high ground between two rivers, Williamsburg served as a colonial capital of Virginia for over 80 years.
Step out of Williamsburg with an excursion to The Noland Trail in Newport News--about 36 minutes away. Plan for a day of cool, family-friendly fun on the 27th (Tue) at Water Country USA. There's still lots to do: browse the exhibits of Historic Jamestowne, don't miss a visit to St. George Tucker House, steep yourself in history at Yorktown Battlefield, and let little ones run wild at Veterans Park.

Wilkes-Barre to Williamsburg is an approximately 6-hour car ride. Prepare for a bit warmer weather when traveling from Wilkes-Barre in June: high temperatures in Williamsburg hover around 87°F and lows are around 68°F. Cap off your sightseeing on the 27th (Tue) early enough to go by car to Ocean City.
