Alaska Starts Here

For most visitors to this part of the world, the wild part of Alaska starts at Seward, a small port city that takes advantage of the region's natural beauty.
Start off your visit on the 16th (Sat): see the world from above with a helicopter tour, identify plant and animal life at Exit Glacier, and then see majestic marine mammals with a dolphin and whale watching tour. On your second day here, take a memorable tour with Tours.

Moline to Seward is an approximately 14-hour combination of flight and car. You can also drive. Traveling from Moline to Seward, you'll gain 3 hours due to the time zone difference. Traveling from Moline in June, you will find days in Seward are much colder (61°F), and nights are little chillier (47°F). On the 18th (Mon), wrap the sightseeing up by early afternoon so you can drive to Anchorage.

The City of Lights and Flowers

Home to nearly half of Alaska's population, the port city of Anchorage covers a staggering area of over 4,900 sq km (1,900 sq mi) surrounded by mountains.
Family-friendly places like Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center and Tony Knowles Coastal Trail will thrill your kids. Get a sense of the local culture at Anchorage Museum at Rasmuson Center and Alaska Native Heritage Center. There's still lots to do: learn about wildlife with up-close encounters at Alaska Zoo, look for all kinds of wild species at Potter Marsh Bird Sanctuary, and stop by Anchorage 5th Avenue Mall.
