America's Largest Capital Area
Juneau is an unusual state capital in many respects.Take a break from the city and head to Dolphin & Whale Watching and Mount Roberts Trail. Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Alaskan Brewery and Bottling Company and St. Nicholas. Spend the 20th (Sun) exploring at Tracy Arm Fjord. The adventure continues: look for all kinds of wild species at Wildlife Areas and hike along Perseverance National Recreation Trail.

New York City to Juneau is an approximately 13.5-hour flight. You can also do a combination of train and ferry. Due to the time zone difference, you'll gain 4 hours traveling from New York City to Juneau. Expect little chillier temperatures when traveling from New York City in May; daily highs in Juneau reach 60°F and lows reach 42°F.
