The Forest City

Maine's biggest and perhaps most vibrant city, Portland was established as a fishing village in 1633 and grew to become New England's largest port.
Start off your visit on the 11th (Sun): explore the engaging exhibits at Children's Museum and Theatre of Maine, see the interesting displays at Maine Jewish Museum, then trek along Back Cove Trail, and finally sample the tasty concoctions at Rising Tide Brewing Company. On your second day here, learn the secrets of beer at The Maine Brew Bus, then kick back and relax at Willard Beach, and then do a tasting at Maine Mead Works.

Bar Harbor is a town on Mount Desert Island in Hancock County, Maine, United States. Satisfy your inner culture vulture at Bass Harbor Head Lighthouse and St. Saviour's Church :. Take a break from the city and head to Ocean Path and Nature & Wildlife Tours. Change things up with a short trip to Wonderland Trail in Southwest Harbor (about 32 minutes away).
