Phoenix is the capital and most populous city of the U.S. Start off your visit on the 11th (Sat): pause for some serene contemplation at St. Mary's Basilica and then admire the natural beauty at Desert Botanical Garden.

San Francisco to Phoenix is an approximately 4.5-hour flight. You can also do a combination of train and flight; or drive. The time zone changes from Pacific Standard Time (PST) to Mountain Standard Time (MST), which is usually a 1 hour difference. Expect warmer weather when traveling from San Francisco in May: highs in Phoenix hover around 93°F, while lows dip to 69°F. Finish your sightseeing early on the 11th (Sat) so you can drive to Sedona.

Despite its relatively small size, Sedona overflows with tourist appeal.
Kick off your visit on the 12th (Sun): take in the spiritual surroundings of Amitabha Stupa & Peace Park, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Chapel of the Holy Cross, and then explore the striking landscape at Cathedral Rock. On the 13th (Mon), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: relax and rejuvenate at some of the best spas, explore the striking landscape at Bell Rock, and then cruise along Red Rock Scenic Byway (SR 179).

Getting from Phoenix to Sedona by car takes about 2.5 hours. Other options: do a combination of flight and taxi; or take a shuttle. In May, Sedona is a bit cooler than Phoenix - with highs of 78°F and lows of 54°F. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 13th (Mon) early enough to drive to Williams.

A tiny town with big tourist appeal, Williams lies on one of the first highways ever built in America, the iconic "Route 66." The town boasts many inns, motels, restaurants, and shops, although its most important feature is serving as the southern terminus of a scenic railway leading to the area's most famous tourist attraction, the World Heritage-listed Grand Canyon.
Venture out of the city with trips to Grand Canyon National Park (South Kaibab Trail, Grand Canyon South Rim, & more).

You can drive from Sedona to Williams in 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus. Prepare for a bit cooler weather when traveling from Sedona in May: high temperatures in Williams hover around 67°F and lows are around 39°F. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 16th (Thu) to allow time to drive to Page.

Originally little more than a simple camp constructed to house workers who built a nearby dam on the Colorado River, Page is now a popular stop for travelers preparing a trip to Arizona's canyon country.
You'll find plenty of places to visit near Page: Marble Canyon (in Marble Canyon) and Navajo Bridge (in Grand Canyon National Park). Spend the 18th (Sat) behind the viewfinder with an inspiring photography tour. Spend the 19th (Sun) wandering through the wild on a nature and wildlife tour. And it doesn't end there: explore the stunning scenery at Antelope Canyon, have fun at Gunfighter Canyon, and take in the dramatic natural features at Horseshoe Bend.
