Land of the Sky

Asheville nestles between two major mountain ranges in the scenic western section of North Carolina.
Kids will enjoy The North Carolina Arboretum and Food Tours. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Asheville: Chimney Rock (Chimney Rock at Chimney Rock State Park & Chimney Rock Gemstone Mine), Lake Lure (The Gem Mine, Buffalo Creek Park Mountain Biking Trail, &more) and Hendersonville (Bearwallow Mountain, Jackson Park, &more). There's still lots to do: relax and rejuvenate at some of the best spas, take in the dramatic scenery at Looking Glass Falls, get to know the resident critters at Western North Carolina Nature Center, and get thoroughly spooked out with a ghost and vampire tour.
