Aptly nicknamed the "Mile-High City," Denver sits at an altitude of 1,600 m (5,280 ft) above sea level, located right where the Great Plains give way to the Rocky Mountains.
Appreciate the collections at Littleton Museum and Argo Mill and Tunnel. Kids will appreciate attractions like Dinosaur Ridge and Denver Museum of Nature & Science. Venture out of the city with trips to Chapel on the Rock (in Allenspark) and Alberta Falls (in Rocky Mountain National Park). There's lots more to do: get curious at Butterfly Pavilion and Insect Center, explore the world behind art at Clyfford Still Museum, explore the different monuments and memorials at Fort Logan National Cemetary, and pause for some serene contemplation at Trinity United Methodist Church.
