City of Firsts

A major center for tourism and travel, Baltimore is famous as the city where amateur poet Francis Scott Key wrote the lyrics for the United States' national anthem.
Kids will enjoy National Air and Space Museum and Rittenhouse Square. Get outdoors at Fort McHenry National Monument and Historic Shrine and Antietam National Battlefield. Explore the numerous day-trip ideas around Baltimore: The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier (in Arlington), Washington DC (Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History, Washington Monument, &more) and Matapeake Clubhouse and Beach (in Stevensville). There's lots more to do: take in the history at Gettysburg National Military Park, have some family-friendly fun at Urban Axes Baltimore, get engrossed in the history at Winterthur Museum, Garden & Library, and admire nature's wide array of creatures at National Aquarium.
