Big Sky is a census-designated place (CDP) in Gallatin and Madison counties in southwestern Montana. Uncle Tom's Trail and The Soldiers Chapel are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Step out of the city life by going to Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone and Old Faithful. Get out of town with these interesting Big Sky side-trips: Yellowstone National Park (Mammoth Hot Springs, Lone Star Geyser, & more), Grizzly and Wolf Discovery Center (in West Yellowstone) and Mesa Falls (in Ashton). There's lots more to do: cast your line with a fishing tour, take a pleasant ride with a tour on horseback, play a few rounds at Big Sky Golf Course, and take in the awesome beauty at Lone Peak.

To see other places to visit, maps, and other tourist information, go to the Big Sky road trip site .

In August in Big Sky, expect temperatures between 75°F during the day and 37°F at night. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 31st (Mon) to allow time to travel back home.
