Rocky Mountain High

Known as a ski resort town, Aspen's history goes back to its roots as a silver-mining village tucked away in an isolated valley of the Rocky Mountains.
Start off your visit on the 16th (Fri): trek along Maroon Lake Scenic Trail and then pause for some photo ops at The John Denver Sanctuary. Here are some ideas for day two: take your sightseeing to a higher altitude at Maroon Bells.

Kick off your visit on the 18th (Sun): admire nature's wide array of creatures at Denver Zoo, then take in nature's colorful creations at Denver Botanic Gardens, then admire the masterpieces at Denver Art Museum, and finally pick up some local products at The Source. Keep things going the next day: see the sky in a new way at Denver Museum of Nature & Science, take in the architecture and atmosphere at St. John's Cathedral, and then see where the action happens at Coors Field.
