New York City to Key West is an approximately 6-hour combination of bus and flight. You can also fly; or drive. Traveling from New York City in July, Key West is somewhat warmer at night with lows of 81°F. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 25th (Sat) so you can catcht the bus to Marathon.

Fort Myers is the county seat and commercial center of Lee County, Florida, United States. Start off your visit on the 27th (Mon): enjoy the sea views from Sanibel Island Lighthouse and then look for all kinds of wild species at J.N. "Ding" Darling National Wildlife Refuge. Drive from Marathon to Fort Myers in 5 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of bus and flight; or do a combination of bus and train. Traveling from Marathon in July, expect a bit cooler with lows of 75°F in Fort Myers. Wrap up your sightseeing by early afternoon on the 28th (Tue) to allow time for the car ride to St. Augustine.

Kick off your visit on the 29th (Wed): steep yourself in history at Fort Matanzas National Monument, then enjoy the sea views from St. Augustine Lighthouse & Maritime Museum, Inc., and then gain insight at Flagler College.
