The northernmost island of the Florida Keys, Key Largo provides stunning scenery, a number of watersports opportunities, and plenty of areas to relax on vacation.
Kick off your visit on the 1st (Tue): look for all kinds of wild species at Florida Keys Wild Bird Rehabilitation Center, then get up close and personal with brilliant marine life at Island Dolphin Care, then take a memorable tour with Tours, and finally take a tour of African Queen Canal Cruise.

Tulsa to Key Largo is an approximately 7.5-hour flight. You can also drive; or take a bus. The time zone difference moving from Central Standard Time to Eastern Standard Time is 1 hour. Traveling from Tulsa in August, plan for somewhat warmer nights in Key Largo, with lows around 77°F. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 1st (Tue) to allow time to drive to Islamorada.

Islamorada

Islamorada, long recognized as one of the world's top spots for sport fishing, encompasses six islands in the Florida Keys.
On the 2nd (Wed), get engrossed in the history at History of Diving Museum, then indulge your thirst for a good beer at Islamorada Brewery & Distillery, then sample the tasty concoctions at Florida Keys Brewing Company, and finally glide through the air with a parasailing or paragliding tour.

Marathon

Heart of the Florida Keys

A tiny city just 16 km (10 mi) long, Marathon is spread across several islands in the middle of the Florida Keys.
On the 3rd (Thu), look for all kinds of wild species at Dolphin Research Center, observe the fascinating underwater world at Florida Keys Aquarium Encounters, and then take in the views from Seven Mile Bridge. Here are some ideas for day two: examine the collection at Crane Point Museum & Nature Center, view the masterpieces at Shady Palm Art Gallery & Photography, then discover the deep blue sea with a scuba or snorkeling tour, and finally snap pictures at Old Seven Mile Bridge.

Traveling by car from Islamorada to Marathon takes an hour. Alternatively, you can take a bus. In September in Marathon, expect temperatures between 90°F during the day and 79°F at night. Cap off your sightseeing on the 4th (Fri) early enough to go by car to Key West.

Located just 140 km (90 mi) from Cuba, Key West is an island only about 6.4 km (4 mi) long and 1.6 km (1 mi) wide.
