The Forest City

Maine's biggest and perhaps most vibrant city, Portland was established as a fishing village in 1633 and grew to become New England's largest port.
On the 14th (Sat), admire the natural beauty at Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens and then indulge your thirst for a good beer at Allagash Brewing Company. Keep things going the next day: wander the streets of Old Port, enjoy the sea views from Portland Head Light, then get engrossed in the history at Victoria Mansion, and finally admire the masterpieces at Portland Museum of Art.
