Kennewick is a city in Benton County in the southeastern part of the State of Washington, along the southwest bank of the Columbia River, just southeast of the confluence of the Columbia and Yakima rivers and across from the confluence of the Columbia and the Snake. Get out of town with these interesting Kennewick side-trips: Walla Walla (Walla Walla Vintners, Fort Walla Walla Museum, & more), Palouse Falls State Park (in Washtucna) and Richland (Hanford Nuclear Reservation & Howard Amon Park). There's lots more to do: look for all kinds of wild species at Columbia Park, get a new perspective on nature at Tamastslikt Cultural Institute, don't miss a visit to Regional Veterans Memorial, and take an in-depth tour of The REACH Museum.

For where to stay, ratings, maps, and tourist information, refer to the Kennewick road trip planning tool .

In August, plan for daily highs up to 92°F, and evening lows to 57°F. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 18th (Sun) so you can travel back home.
