Kentucky’s largest city, Louisville, is best known as the home of the Kentucky Derby.
Get some historical perspective at Conrad-Caldwell House Museum (Conrad's Castle) and My Old Kentucky Home. Get a sense of the local culture at Swope's Cars of Yesteryear Museum and Old Louisville. Get out of town with these interesting Louisville side-trips: Barton 1792 Distillery (in Bardstown) and Limestone Branch Distillery (in Lebanon). There's much more to do: Head underground at Louisville Mega Cavern, explore the world behind art at 21c Museum Hotel, sample the fine beverages at Kentucky Peerless Distilling Co, and examine the collection at Kentucky Derby Museum.

Known internationally as the "Horse Capital of the World," Lexington boasts a thriving economy resting largely on its thoroughbred racehorse industry.
On the 21st (Sat), admire the natural beauty at Ashland: The Henry Clay Estate, then brush up on your knowledge of spirits at Bluegrass Distillers, and then examine the collection at Ark Encounter. Keep things going the next day: take in the history at Perryville Battlefield State Historic Site, then take in the exciting artwork at Kentucky Artisan Center at Berea, and then explore the different monuments and memorials at Lexington Cemetery.
