Maine's biggest and perhaps most vibrant city, Portland was established as a fishing village in 1633 and grew to become New England's largest port.
Satisfy your inner culture vulture at The Maine Brew Bus and Portland Museum of Art. Get in touch with nature at Harris Farm Cross Country Skiing and Spring Point Shoreway. Get out of town with these interesting Portland side-trips: Marginal Way Walkway (in Ogunquit), Nubble Lighthouse (in York) and Kennebunkport (Walker's Point & St. Ann's Episcopal Church).
