The glaciers from which Glacier National Park takes its name mostly dissipated eons ago, but they left behind a scoured landscape of high and steep mountain peaks, sparkling lakes, lush alpine meadows, and thick forests.
Kick off your visit on the 3rd (Sat): contemplate the waterfront views at McDonald Creek, then hike along Highline Trail, and then trek along Grinnell Glacier. On the next day, contemplate the waterfront views at Bullhead Lake, contemplate the waterfront views at Fishercap Lake, and then admire the sheer force of Apikuni Falls.

Big Sky is a census-designated place (CDP) in Gallatin and Madison counties in southwestern Montana. Start off your visit on the 5th (Mon): take in the natural beauty of Norris Geyser Basin. Keep things going the next day: stroll through Beehive Basin Trail, then take an in-depth tour of J.Spencer Watkins Memorial Museum, and then see a world frozen in time at Nevada City Ghost Town.
