Napa

— 8 nights

America's Wine Country

Located just 80 km (50 mi) north of San Francisco, Napa sits at the southern end of the scenic Napa Valley, one of the world's major wine regions.
Venture out of the city with trips to Charles M. Schulz Museum (in Santa Rosa), Healdsburg (Sapphire Hill Winery, Stephen & Walker Winery, &more) and St. Helena (Pride Mountain Vineyards & Beringer Vineyards). There's much more to do: enjoy unforgettable views with a balloon tour, look for gifts at Oxbow Public Market, learn about winemaking at Benziger Family Winery, and make a trip to Sonoma Plaza.

For other places to visit, ratings, more things to do, and other tourist information, use the Napa trip itinerary builder tool.

Los Angeles to Napa is an approximately 6.5-hour flight. You can also drive; or do a combination of bus and subway. Plan for a bit cooler temperatures traveling from Los Angeles in February, with highs in Napa at 64°F and lows at 39°F. Cap off your sightseeing on the 28th (Sun) early enough to travel back home.

Thanks to a Mediterranean climate and idyllic location in Northern California, Napa Valley is one of the top wine producing regions in the world. This, coupled with the area's breathtaking scenery, abundance of quaint B&Bs, and exquisite local gastronomy, makes Napa Valley one of the country's most popular spots for peaceful weekends and romantic getaways. While wine tasting and vineyard tours are the traditional things to do, the region offers a variety of other attractions, including hot air balloon rides, spa treatments, and trips aboard the Napa Valley Wine Train.
