Known internationally as the "Horse Capital of the World," Lexington boasts a thriving economy resting largely on its thoroughbred racehorse industry.
Your day by day itinerary now includes Ark Encounter as well as The Big Zipper. Kick off your visit on the 11th (Mon): examine the collection at Ark Encounter. Keep things going the next day: stroll through Kentucky Horse Park, then sample the fine beverages at Wilderness Trail Distillery, and then see the interesting displays at The Great American Dollhouse Museum.

Known for its Creole cuisine, rich musical tradition, and nearby swamps and plantations, New Orleans is one of the nation's oldest cities.
Do some cultural sightseeing at Garden District and St. Louis Cathedral.
