Traveling by car from Carlsbad to Taos takes 6 hours. Alternatively, you can fly. In November, Taos is slightly colder than Carlsbad - with highs of 51°F and lows of 21°F. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 5th (Tue) early enough to drive to Santa Fe.

Albuquerque remains one of the state's secret jewels, as its tourist attractions are often overshadowed by the more popular holiday destination of Santa Fe.
Step out of Albuquerque with an excursion to Bandelier National Monument in Los Alamos--about 1h 20 min away. And it doesn't end there: appreciate the extensive heritage of Albuquerque Old Town, pause for some serene contemplation at Capilla de Nuestra Senora de Guadalupe, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at San Felipe de Neri Church, and examine the collection at New Mexico Steam Locomotive and Railroad Historical Society.
