Albuquerque remains one of the state's secret jewels, as its tourist attractions are often overshadowed by the more popular holiday destination of Santa Fe.
When in Albuquerque, make a side trip to see Bandelier National Monument in Los Alamos, approximately Los Alamos away. And it doesn't end there: get interesting insight from Tours, take in the dramatic natural features at Petroglyph National Monument, engage your brain at Explora Science Center and Children's Museum of Albuquerque, and get engrossed in the history at Indian Pueblo Cultural Center.

Drive from Albuquerque to Santa Fe in an hour. Alternatively, you can take a bus; or take a train. Expect slightly colder evenings in Santa Fe when traveling from Albuquerque in June, with lows around 56°F. Cap off your sightseeing on the 1st (Wed) early enough to go by car to Taos.

Carlsbad is a city in and the county seat of Eddy County, New Mexico, United States.
