Known for its Creole cuisine, rich musical tradition, and nearby swamps and plantations, New Orleans is one of the nation's oldest cities.
Discover out-of-the-way places like Laura: Louisiana's Creole Heritage Site and New Orleans City Park. French Quarter and Lake Lawn Metairie will appeal to history buffs. Change things up with a short trip to Oak Alley Plantation in Vacherie (about 1h 5 min away). The adventure continues: pause for some serene contemplation at Immaculate Conception Church, don't miss a visit to Jackson Square, stroll the grounds of Lafayette Cemetery No.1, and admire the striking features of St. Louis Cathedral.

Natchez is the county seat and only city of Adams County, Mississippi, United States. You've now added The Natchez Trace Parkway to your itinerary. Your inner history buff will appreciate Longwood and LSP Museum. Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Natchez City Cemetery and Temple B'nai Israel. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Natchez: Saint Francisville (St. Francisville United Methodist Church, Grace Church of West Feliciana Parish, &more). There's still lots to do: steep yourself in history at Stanton Hall, admire the landmark architecture of Auburn Museum & Historic Home, stop by Darby's Famous Fudge, and pause for some serene contemplation at St. Mary Basilica.
