Known primarily for its steel-related heritage and 446 bridges, Pittsburgh sits at the confluence of the Monongahela and Allegheny Rivers, which meet to form the Ohio River.
Start off your visit on the 10th (Sun): take a stroll through Mount Washington, see the interesting displays at The Nationality Rooms, then have fun and explore at Children's Museum of Pittsburgh, and finally make a trip to Southern Pennsylvania World War II Memorial. On the 11th (Mon), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: admire the striking features of Hartwood Acres, gain insight at Beechwood Farms Nature Reserve, see the interesting displays at Frick Art and Historical Center, then take in nature's colorful creations at Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens, and finally contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Heinz Memorial Chapel.

Houston to Pittsburgh is an approximately 6-hour flight. You can also drive; or take a bus. Due to the time zone difference, you'll lose 1 hour traveling from Houston to Pittsburgh. Plan for cooler temperatures traveling from Houston in March, with highs in Pittsburgh at 47°F and lows at 30°F. Cap off your sightseeing on the 12th (Tue) early enough to go by car to Gettysburg.
