City of Roses

A big city with a small-town feel, Portland is home to the country's biggest rose test garden, perched on a hill overlooking downtown.
Here are some ideas for day two: steep yourself in history at George C. Marshall House, then take in the spiritual surroundings of The Grotto - National Sanctuary of Our Sorrowful Mother, then take your sightseeing to a higher altitude at Mount Tabor Park, and finally see the interesting displays at Freakybuttrue Peculiarium.

City by the Bay

San Francisco is a top holiday destination featuring scenic beauty and great ethnic and cultural diversity.
Step out of the city life by going to Alcatraz Island and Marin Headlands. You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Lands End and Walt Disney Family Museum. You'll find plenty of places to visit near San Francisco: Mumm Napa (in Rutherford) and Francis Ford Coppola Winery (in Geyserville). The adventure continues: take in the views from Golden Gate Bridge, take in the waterfront at Fisherman's Wharf, get curious at Exploratorium, and steep yourself in history at SS Jeremiah O'Brien.
