Maine's biggest and perhaps most vibrant city, Portland was established as a fishing village in 1633 and grew to become New England's largest port.

Explore Portland's surroundings by going to Ogunquit (Perkins Cove, Marginal Way Walkway, &more), Maine State Aquarium (in Boothbay Harbor) and Dolphin & Whale Watching (in Gloucester). There's still lots to do: gain some tasty knowledge on The Maine Brew Bus, enjoy the sea views from Portland Head Light, sample the tasty concoctions at Allagash Brewing Company, and wander the streets of Old Port.
