Maine's biggest and perhaps most vibrant city, Portland was established as a fishing village in 1633 and grew to become New England's largest port.

Get out of town with these interesting Portland side-trips: Cabbage Island (in Boothbay Harbor), Mount Battie (in Camden) and Ogunquit (Marginal Way Walkway, Ogunquit Beach, &more). The adventure continues: explore the landscape on two wheels at Eastern Promenade Trail, enjoy the sea views from Portland Head Light, visit Old Port, and admire the masterpieces at Portland Museum of Art.
