A seaside playground in the Caribbean, Rincon was a small agricultural and fishing town until it hosted the 1968 World Surfing Championship.
Kick off your visit on the 18th (Wed): soothe aching muscles at some of the top local wellness centers and then kick back and relax at Sandy Beach. Here are some ideas for day two: stroll through Maria's Beach and then discover the deep blue sea with Fathom Charters.

Kick off your visit on the 20th (Fri): paddle through the water with a kayaking and canoeing tour and then enjoy the sand and surf at Playa La Pared. For sixty years until 2003, most of the Isla de Vieques was closed off to the public, with the US Navy using the island's beaches and surrounding waters for drills and testing of new military machinery, such as bombs.
