Sioux Falls is the largest city in the U.S. state of South Dakota. Step off the beaten path and head to Devil's Gulch and The Blood Run Nature Area. You'll explore and learn at Herried Military Museum and Brandenburg Gallery - Luverne. And it doesn't end there: look and learn at Earth Resources Observation and Science (EROS) Center, tour the pleasant surroundings at Mary Jo Wegner Arboretum, trek along SculptureWalk & Arc of Dreams Monument, and contemplate the waterfront views at Arrowhead Park.

Badlands National Park — 4 nights

Although Badlands National Park's name might not be the most inviting, its landscape of pinnacles, eroded buttes, spires, and an expansive, pristine mixed-grass prairie remain enticing.
Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Castle Trail and Burns Basin Overlook. Kids will enjoy Loop Road and Conata Basin Overlook. Step out of Badlands National Park to go to Interior and see Hurley Butte Horseback Riding, which is approximately 40 minutes away. There's more to do: take in the dramatic natural features at Homestead Overlook and explore the striking landscape of Bigfoot Pass Overlook.
