The city of Fredericksburg was settled by German immigrants in the mid-19th century, and has managed to retain its distinctly German charm.
Start off your visit on the 14th (Sun): brush up on your knowledge of spirits at Garrison Brothers Distillery, then get engrossed in the history at National Museum of the Pacific War, then learn about winemaking at Grape Creek Vineyards on Main, and finally take in the architecture and atmosphere at St. Mary's Catholic Church.

On the 15th (Mon), get to know the resident critters at San Antonio Zoo, then contemplate the long history of The Alamo, then tour the pleasant surroundings at The San Antonio River Walk, and finally get to know the fascinating history of La Villita Historic Arts Village. On your second day here, explore the fascinating underground world of Natural Bridge Caverns, take in the history at Mission San Jose, and then pause for some serene contemplation at San Fernando De Bexar Cathedral.
