Divided into neighborhoods with distinct characters and cultural heritages, San Diego sits just north of the Mexican border and offers visitors a blend of tourist attractions, including a lively nightlife, diverse cuisine, and a thriving musical scene.
You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve and La Jolla Shores Park. Bring the kids along to Windansea Beach and Mission Bay Park. Change things up with a short trip to Del Mar City Beach in Del Mar (about 30 minutes away). Next up on the itinerary: pause for some photo ops at Mt. Soledad National Veterans Memorial, learn about wildlife with up-close encounters at San Diego Zoo, enjoy the sand and surf at Pacific Beach, and don't miss a visit to St James by-The-Sea Episcopal Church.
