Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas — 3 nights

One of the most visited cruise ship destinations in the Caribbean, the town of Charlotte Amalie is known around the world for its duty-free jewelry, perfume, and liquor shops.
Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Jester Sailing Adventures and St. Thomas Synagogue. There's much more to do: kick back and relax at Magens Bay, stroll through Coki Point Beach, get great views at Drake's Seat, and stop by Kay's Fine Jewelry.

Hartford, USA to Charlotte Amalie is an approximately 9-hour flight. The time zone difference moving from Eastern Standard Time (EST) to Atlantic Standard Time (AST) is 1 hour. In January, Charlotte Amalie is much warmer than Hartford - with highs of 84°F and lows of 73°F. Cap off your sightseeing on the 16th (Sun) early enough to catch the flight to St. Croix.

The largest of the U.S. Virgin Islands, St.
Kick off your visit on the 17th (Mon): trek along Carambola Tide Pools and then kick back and relax at Cane Bay. On the 18th (Tue), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: steep yourself in history at St. George Village Botanical Garden, then tour the pleasant surroundings at Rainbow Beach, and then see the interesting displays at Estate Whim Museum.

You can fly from Charlotte Amalie to St. Croix in 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can ride a ferry. In January, plan for daily highs up to 84°F, and evening lows to 72°F. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 18th (Tue) to allow time to travel to Cruz Bay.

Cruz Bay, St. John — 3 nights

The gateway to the island of Saint John, Cruz Bay represents the island's largest town, port, and commercial center.
You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Ram Head Trail and Salomon Beach. There's lots more to do: enjoy the sand and surf at Trunk Bay Beach, look for gifts at Bamboo Studio, stroll through Francis Bay, and contemplate the long history of Annaberg Sugar Plantation.

Traveling by combination of taxi, flight, and ferry from St. Croix to Cruz Bay takes 3.5 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of taxi, flight, and ferry; or ride a ferry. In January in Cruz Bay, expect temperatures between 84°F during the day and 73°F at night. On the 21st (Fri), wrap the sightseeing up by early afternoon so you can travel back home.
