Kalispell is a city in, and the county seat of Flathead County, Montana, United States. Discover out-of-the-way places like Trail of the Cedars and Lone Pine State Park. Get in touch with nature at Flathead Lake State Park and Swan River Nature Trail. Change things up with a short trip to Flathead National Forest in Whitefish (about 58 minutes away). It doesn't end there: steep yourself in history at Conrad Mansion and immerse yourself in nature at Wild Horse Island State Park.

Kick off your visit on the 18th (Fri): stop by Send it Home, then get in on the family fun at Yellowstone Big Gun Fun, then look for all kinds of wild species at Grizzly and Wolf Discovery Center, and finally take a pleasant ride with a tour on horseback. Keep things going the next day: cast your line with a fishing tour, then contemplate the waterfront views at Madison River, and then take in the dramatic natural features at Terrace Spring.

You've now added Yellowstone Raft Company to your itinerary. Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Midway Geyser Basin and Firehole River. Take a break from the city and head to Roosevelt Arch and Fort Yellowstone Historic District. Explore Gardiner's surroundings by going to Yellowstone National Park (Petrified Tree, Beryl Spring, &more).
