Aptly nicknamed the "Mile-High City," Denver sits at an altitude of 1,600 m (5,280 ft) above sea level, located right where the Great Plains give way to the Rocky Mountains.
On the 3rd (Sat), get curious at Butterfly Pavilion and Insect Center, then don't miss a visit to 16th Street Mall, and then contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. Keep things going the next day: identify plant and animal life at Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Wildlife Refuge and then stroll through Cherry Creek State Park.
