Rightly calling itself "America's Hometown," Plymouth holds a prominent place in the nation's history and culture as the site of the first Puritan colony.
Start off your visit on the 19th (Wed): visit a coastal fixture at Nobska Point Lighthouse, explore the landscape on two wheels at Shining Sea Bikeway, then see the interesting displays at Heritage Museums & Gardens, then contemplate the long history of Mayflower II, and finally appreciate the history behind Plymouth Rock. Keep things going the next day: examine the collection at John F Kennedy Hyannis Museum, get engrossed in the history at Sandwich Glass Museum, then get engrossed in the history at Plimoth Plantation, and finally admire the natural beauty at Brewster Gardens.

Maine's biggest and perhaps most vibrant city, Portland was established as a fishing village in 1633 and grew to become New England's largest port.
Start off your visit on the 22nd (Sat): steep yourself in history at Wadsworth-Longfellow House, then enjoy the sea views from Spring Point Ledge Lighthouse, then steep yourself in history at Fort Preble, and finally examine the collection at Portland Head Light. On your second day here, don't miss a visit to Portland Observatory, then explore the world behind art at Portland Museum of Art, and then take advantage of the amenities at Old Orchard Beach.

Bar Harbor is a town on Mount Desert Island in Hancock County, Maine, United States. Step out of Bar Harbor with an excursion to Bass Harbor Head Lighthouse in Bass Harbor--about 32 minutes away. Spend the 26th (Wed) exploring nature at Acadia National Park. There's still lots to do: step off the mainland to explore Mount Desert Island, look for all kinds of wild species at Shore Path, take in the awesome beauty at Cadillac Mountain, and stop by A LITTLE MAD.
