Stowe bustles in winter when skiers and snowboarders flock here to challenge themselves on the long, steep trails careening down Vermont's tallest peak, Mt.
On the 2nd (Mon), take in the dramatic scenery at Moss Glen Falls, take in the exciting artwork at Remarkable Things at Stowe Craft, then fly down the slopes at Stowe Mountain Resort, and finally take a memorable drive along Smugglers Notch State Park. On your second day here, ski along the peaceful trails at Trapp Family Lodge Outdoor Center, then cruise along Toll Rd, and then sample some tasty brews at a beer tour and tasting.

Maine's biggest and perhaps most vibrant city, Portland was established as a fishing village in 1633 and grew to become New England's largest port.
On the 6th (Fri), cast your line with a fishing tour, take an in-depth tour of Victoria Mansion, then contemplate the long history of Wadsworth-Longfellow House, and finally indulge your thirst for a good beer at Allagash Brewing Company.
