Nicknamed the "Emerald City" because of its abundant evergreen trees, Seattle is the cultural and business center of the Pacific Northwest, as well as a popular holiday destination.
On the 5th (Thu), stroll through Alki Beach and then stroll through Seahurst Beach Park. Keep things going the next day: indulge in some culinary diversions at a local gastronomic tour, appreciate the history behind Fremont Troll, take in the waterfront at Hiram M. Chittenden Locks, then stroll around Kerry Park, then ponder the design of Seattle Center, and finally take in panoramic vistas at Sky View Observatory.

Dallas to Seattle is an approximately 6.5-hour flight. You can also drive; or take a bus. You'll gain 2 hours traveling from Dallas to Seattle due to the time zone difference. Plan for slightly colder temperatures traveling from Dallas in July, with highs in Seattle at 79°F and lows at 60°F. Cap off your sightseeing on the 7th (Sat) early enough to travel to Otter Rock.

Kick off your visit on the 7th (Sat): get great views at Rocky Creek State Scenic Viewpoint, kick back and relax at Fogarty Creek State Recreation Area, and then kick back and relax at Cape Kiwanda State Natural Area. On your second day here, identify plant and animal life at Beachside State Recreation Area, stop by The Chocolate Frog, then shop like a local with The Edge Art Gallery, and finally explore and take pictures at Otter Crest Loop.

Traveling by car from Seattle to Otter Rock takes 5.5 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of flight and car. Traveling from Seattle in July, things will get a bit cooler in Otter Rock: highs are around 63°F and lows about 50°F. You will have some time to spend on the 9th (Mon) before leaving for Eureka.
