Detroit to Mackinac Island is an approximately 5.5-hour combination of flight, bus, and ferry. You can also do a combination of flight and ferry; or do a combination of bus and ferry. Expect little chillier temperatures when traveling from Detroit in June; daily highs in Mackinac Island reach 67°F and lows reach 51°F. Finish your sightseeing early on the 27th (Sat) so you can ride a ferry to Saint Ignace.

Saint Ignace, usually written as St. Attractions like Oswald's Bear Ranch and GarLyn Zoological Park make great kid-friendly stops. Venture out of the city with trips to Tahquamenon Falls State Park (in Paradise) and Sault Ste. Marie (Museum Ship Valley Camp & Soo Locks). There's much more to do: take in the views from Mackinac Bridge, get a taste of life in the country at Deer Ranch, get engrossed in the history at Museum of Ojibwa Culture, and take an unorthodox tour of Mystery Spot.

Saint Ignace is very close to Mackinac Island. In June, plan for daily highs up to 67°F, and evening lows to 51°F. Finish your sightseeing early on the 30th (Tue) so you can drive to Munising.

Munising is a city on the southern shore of Lake Superior on the Upper Peninsula of the U.S. On the 1st (Wed), admire the sheer force of Munising Falls and then explore the striking landscape of Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. On the next day, kick back and relax at Sand Point Beach, take in the dramatic scenery at Miners Falls, and then take in the dramatic natural features at Miners Castle Rock.

You can drive from Saint Ignace to Munising in 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of bus and taxi. In June, daily temperatures in Munising can reach 68°F, while at night they dip to 49°F. Cap off your sightseeing on the 2nd (Thu) early enough to travel to Ontonagon.

Ontonagon is a village in the U.S. Start off your visit on the 3rd (Fri): take in the dramatic scenery at Bond Falls and then discover the riches below the earth's surface at Adventure Mining Company. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the 4th (Sat): explore the activities along Lake of the Clouds and then take a peaceful walk through Porcupine Mountains State Park.
