Woodstock — 3 nights

Woodstock is the shire town of Windsor County, Vermont, United States. Step out of the city life by going to New England Falconry and Quechee Gorge. Venture out of the city with trips to Texas Falls Recreation Area (in Hancock) and Stay Bent Fishing Tours (in Bethel). There's much more to do: relax in the rural setting at Sugarbush Farm, identify plant and animal life at Vermont Institute of Natural Science (VINS), get curious at Montshire Museum of Science, and contemplate the long history of Billings Farm & Museum.

Kalamazoo to Woodstock is an approximately 8-hour combination of flight and car. You can also drive. Expect a daytime high around 83°F in July, and nighttime lows around 59°F. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 25th (Tue) early enough to drive to Stowe.

Stowe bustles in winter when skiers and snowboarders flock here to challenge themselves on the long, steep trails careening down Vermont's tallest peak, Mt.
Get outdoors at Stowe Recreation Path and Burlington Bike Path. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Stowe: Burlington (Church Street Marketplace & Waterfront Park), Shelburne (Shelburne Museum & Shelburne Farms) and Birds of Vermont Museum (in Huntington). There's lots more to do: take in the awesome beauty at Mount Mansfield State Forest, take a tour by water with The Fly Rod Shop Fly Fishing Tours, and gain some tasty knowledge on Smugglers' Notch Distillery Tasting Room.

Getting from Woodstock to Stowe by car takes about 1.5 hours. Other options: do a combination of taxi and train; or do a combination of bus and train. In July, daily temperatures in Stowe can reach 79°F, while at night they dip to 56°F. Cap off your sightseeing on the 28th (Fri) early enough to go by car to Manchester.

Manchester — 2 nights

Manchester is a town in, and one of two shire towns (county seats) of, Bennington County, Vermont, United States. Kick off your visit on the 29th (Sat): take in the awesome beauty at Bromley Mountain, then take in the pleasant sights at Merck Forest & Farmland Center, and then look for all kinds of wild species at Equinox Preservation Trust. On the next day, steep yourself in history at Hildene, The Lincoln Family Home and then experience rural life at North Meadow Farm.
