Williamsburg — 8 nights

Williamsburg is a home rule-class city in and the county seat of Whitley County, Kentucky, United States. You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at University of the Cumberlands and Split Bow Arch. Dr. Thomas Walker State Historic Site and Natural Arch Scenic Area will appeal to history buffs. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Williamsburg: Kingdom Come State Park (in Cumberland), Whitesburg (Kentucky Mist Moonshine & Bad Branch State Nature Preserve) and Yahoo Falls (in Whitley City). The adventure continues: see the interesting displays at Cumberland Museum, let the kids burn off some steam at Wilderness Road State Park, explore the activities along Laurel River Lake, and get engrossed in the history at McCreary County Museum.

In July, daily temperatures in Williamsburg can reach 86°F, while at night they dip to 66°F.
