  • It took a couple of tries to get there, as it kept raining & you do NOT want to drive this road when it's wet. We've been there before, but never when the gift shop was open. All books were 50% off...

  • A quiet monastery in a beautiful setting. The church is just amazing with a view of the mountain behind the alter.
  • My friend who lives in the area took me out to the Monastery. The road to the Monastery is about 13 miles. It is a very scenic trip with lots of places to stop and check out the Rio Chama, or to camp. There were also people kayaking in the river. The Monastery itself is quite beautiful inside and out. Fairly modern design. Nice gallery inside where you can buy photography prints in support of the Monastery.
