Perched upon Mount Desert Island in one of Maine's most popular parks, Cadillac Mountain is replete with hiking trails and scenery. The mountain, standing 470 m (1,528 ft) high, is one of the tallest on the United States' eastern seaboard. Here, you can get a glimpse of distant Canadian Nova Scotia in clear weather. You can either hike or drive the 5.6 km (3.5 mi) long road to the summit, which features views of the Porcupine Islands and ocean. • When I stood on the top of the hill, I was deeply impressed by the beautiful scenery. It took us about 20 minutes to climb the mountain. The mountain is a bit steep, but there are some vertical iron ladders that can help people climb up. There was a lot of grass along the field, and lots of delicious wild blueberries, which we found on the top of the hill and tasted good. This is a good place to go, especially friends who love nature, don't miss it. Mountaineering enthusiasts can think of the mountain as a better object of practice. We were driving there and there seemed to be only one convenience store nearby.

  • Such a beautiful place. One of the best views I've found yet and I've been looking a lot. Bar harbor is fairly close and also a must see.
  • This place holds my sanctuary. Placed called thunder hole. There's a rock you have to climb and once on it, could sit all day everyday.... watching each wave make its mark... beautiful place.
