Create an itinerary including Dorr Mountain
The narrow ridge of Dorr Mountain features four hiking trails offering scenic views of the surroundings. All routes pass through wooded areas, with some sections running along streams and across valleys, and others dropping over boulders and big rocks. Occasionally, you will have to walk on wooden planks placed across beaver ponds. Once you reach the summit at 365 m (1,270 ft) above sea level, take in the panoramic view of the ocean and offshore islands. The most interesting and challenging trail works its way up a steep ascent made easier by some granite and iron steps. • Deepest sympathy to the families of the two hikers who died on this trail this week. I've hiked many trails, and although the height of Dorr itself is not impressive, the potential for deadly slips.....  more

  • We climbed up via the Ladder Route! It was challenging but amazing and totally worth the effort!
  • Good hike, lots of stairs thought. The ladders are a little sketchy and probably for 10 and up. But all around perfect, great view at the top. Love it.
