Experience the sounds and history of automated music at the Music House Museum. Recognized on as “One of the ten reasons to visit (Michigan’s) Lower Peninsula”, it is a must see for vacationers. Daily tours of this one of kind collection of rare instruments take visitors on a trip through music history. Hear Gershwin play Rhapsody in Blue on the Weber Duo Art Grand Piano and experience the beauty and grandeur of the 32ft wide, 1922 Mortier Dance Hall Organ and so much more! Guests not only see the artistry and science of these marvels and also hear them play! The Museum is housed in remodeled turn of the century barns complete with parlors, a general store and even a saloon. Shop in our unique gift shop or rent the Museum as a beautiful venue for weddings or parties. It is located in the beautiful, orchard-filled rolling hills of Grand Traverse Co., just north of the Traverse City on US 31N. Continuous daily musical tours are given May through October, Monday through Friday from 10 AM to 4 PM and Sunday from noon to 4 PM and the Museum is open on Saturdays, 10 AM to 4 PM in November and December as well as all week between Christmas and New Years.   • This is a must see if you are near Traverse City. Staff is quite friendly and knowledgeable about their displays that are quite rare. Only downside, it is tough to locate though. So please keep this i...  more »
  • This place is AWESOME! Music lovers, history buffs and musicians should not pass this place up! There are unique guitars hanging in the gift shop you've probable never seen before, and very rare pianos that have been beautifully restored. The tour is entertaining and our guides were knowledgeable and friendly ,taking time to answer our questions. Very pleased we came in !
  • Definitely a must see. My wife and I didn't know quite what to expect. But, we were amazed by the tour, the guides and the collection of fascinating instruments. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about these amazing pieces of history. It's infectious. Well worth your time.
