Afton Mountain Vineyards, Afton

My husband and I stayed in one of the cottages during our two-night stay in VA wine country. I highly recommend staying in one of the cottages. They are roomy and close to many wineries. The wine at Afton Mountain was good, we preferred the wine at other nearby wineries (for reference, tasted at 5 wineries, bought wine club memberships at 3 wineries, did not buy one here). It has an amazing view. We will definitely stay here from now on. If you decide to book a cottage be sure to bring food with you. The closest grocery story is about 20 minutes away.

Had family visiting from out of state while visiting this vineyard for the second time. What a beautiful location and winery. We sat on the porch with snacks we brought in and drank their wine. Delicious. After a storm came up we were welcomed to a back room with our snacks and wine to ride out the storm. We are very grateful for good wine and great hospitality. That's not always the case but these folks went above and beyond. Will be visiting more often for sure. Thank you.
