  • We went on a great backpacking adventure in North Western Alabama in early April. We started at the Borden Creek Trail Head and walked down trail 200 to 209 to 204 and then 224 to complete the loop...  more »
  • We started our hike at the Randolph Trail head. We took 201 to 209 and gheaded down to the River. Crossed the river at a point about two feet deep. Should have carried my shoes and socks instead...  more »
  • This is one of the best places to go backpacking! There are plenty of trailheads and each presents different terrain. There is plenty of water to filter or boil. There are tons of rock faces and campsites are abundant. The Sipsey Wilderness is always an adventure and there is a lot of wildlife too!
  • the trails are beautiful just like the other reviews say, however, the google directions that bring you to Thompson trailhead will bring you down about 5 miles or hole-filled dirt roads that are really only suitable for trucks or other off-road vehicles. luckily we made it unscathed, but another couple there ended up stranded with a flat tire... maybe look up a route to a different trail head if your car isn't up for an off road adventure!
