KiMo Theatre, Albuquerque

4.7
The KiMo Theatre is a theatre and historic landmark located in Albuquerque, New Mexico on the northeast corner of Central Avenue and Fifth Street. It was built in 1927 in the extravagant Art Deco-Pueblo Revival Style architecture, which is a blend of adobe building styles (rounded corners and edges), decorative motifs from indigenous cultures, and the soaring lines and linear repetition found in American Art Deco architecture.

  • Acoustics and view perfect. Ushers friendly. Bathroom clean. They do not serve anything to drink but you may take in a bottle of water!  more »

  • First visit. Was really great. Notice outside sounds still make it into the theater though. Sound quality was nice but need a little less tweet and a little more bass for the microphones. Enjoyed a great play though.
  • I was there with my family for Kumbuka Celebration on Feb 1, 2019. It was my first time in this landmark place. It’s size is deceiving from the outside because it’s huge from within and spacious. Its ambience is like a fine wine and made me feel at home. The Kimo should be touted on New Mexico True. The only thing I’d like to see is an additional cushion for one’s back ... I’m still giving it a Five!
