One of my favorite things to do in Old Town Alexandria. It was the first place I took guests when I lived there. There is always something need to see, and the opportunity to interact with the artists is fun & unique. There are also many quaint & interesting ships restaurants & bars in the vicinity. And if there is the man who plays the glass harp (or singing wine glasses), he had quite a repertoire and it's full of fascinating information. A fantastic new art installation involving colored glass, mirrors & colored lights had been added just beside the torpedo factory. It's beautiful during the day, but by far much more interesting & appealing after dark!
Great place to read about the history of how the factory was use during the war and after. The art galleries and little shops are nice to browse and buy handmade items. During the Christmas holiday, there is usually a little band that play wonderful Christmas music. Thus is such a great location right on the Old Town pier with beautiful views of the Potomac River.
