Allentown, PA’s Morning Call newspaper raved about the Merchants Square Model Train Exhibit:By using our Allentown trip itinerary planner, you can arrange your visit to Merchants Square Model Train Exhibit and other attractions in Allentown.
“…the world’s most amazing model train extravaganza. If you think I’m exaggerating, take a look… The main display is more than 78 feet long and 36 feet wide and other displays are only somewhat smaller, with more model trains than I could count and hundreds of intricately detailed and electrified little buildings and other structures… In the middle of its biggest display (is) a 16 by 24 foot lake with real water, and overhead puffy clouds… produce real rain.
“One display has a ski resort in the background with tiny skiers schussing down the slopes (they actually move). A farm is so realistic, one of the outbuildings has a roof that’s collapsing with age.”
In coming years, I’m pretty sure every model train enthusiast will seek inspiration in south Allentown, where magic is also building momentum.”

Merchants Square Model Train Exhibit reviews
I did not know what to expect, we arrived in middle of the show and were let in, came back later for full show. I was amazed, two types of trains, HO scale & O gauge. There were at least 15 trains... more »
Very clean and everything functions. Best large display in the area. Only down side is they only operate display for a half hour at a time on the half hour. Check their web site for details. more »
Really cool toy train set-up in the Merchants Square shopping center. The shopping center is sketchy, but considering it is a flea market it makes sense. I brought my son and nephew here because they love trains and because of the great reviews and we sure were not disappointed. Adults are $8 and kids under 5 are free which was great. The amount of detail and trains is amazing and you can tell that it took a very long time to set this up. My son and nephew loved the Thomas trains in the back and kept wanting to go back to see them. It was also cool that they had step ladders for little kids to get up on and see. A lot easier that carrying them around the whole time.
I absolutely LOVED THIS PLACE! Everyone in every single shop is super friendly and knowledgeable about the products that they have.
